Even if you use Time Machine to back up your files on Mac, it is a good practice to make an extra effort to save another copy of your important data in an external hard drive. The pictures you imported to the iPhoto from different digital devices must be very close to your heart. To Create iPhoto Backup in External Drive
- Connect the external drive to the Mac system.
- Then in the finder window you can view the contents of it.
- Now open the folder where all the iPhoto pictures are saved
- Then drag all the photos to the external drive finder window.
- All the photos will be copied
- if there exist an older copy then you can either replace it or retain.
You can also back up your iPhoto library in a CD or DVD just by burning them on the disk. You just have to insert a blank disk and drag the photos to the disk icon.
Now when you need to restore iPhoto library you can reconnect the external drive or enter the disk then locate the moved photos.
